Spiritual Warfare….

It's all around us, when we turn on the TV, the videos we see our kids watching, the interactions in schools, the conflicts in marriage, the conflicts with our teens, our family, and even in our churches. Spiritual warfare is going on around us all the time, it never stops, never tires, and never gets board. We are against an enemy that has one goal; to destroy our relationship with God and tear us away from Him. Are we going to let satan win? Are we going to continue to allow him to destroy our marriages by whispering lies in our ears? Are we going to allow him to take over the supervision of our kids because we are too busy to parent properly? The answer should be NO an unequivocal NO! Satan is in everything and everywhere we look, news, TV, Disney movies (yes i said it!), music, celebrities, even in church. We must be careful with what (and who) we surround ourselves with. We are allowing Satan into our lives without even realizing it and he sits comfortably on the couch and just tears people and families apart little by little, all with a big grin on his face, a nasty evil maniacal grin. It is important now more than ever to be aware, be alert, and be repaired! Put on your armor because the war is already here!

"Put on the full armor of God, so you can take your stand against the devil's schemes." Ephesians 6:11

We should make time for nothing else but building our relationship with Christ. Having that deep faith rooted in the word of God and His Holy Spirit surrounding everything we do, say and touch. Faith isnt about a checklist, God is not a "To-Do list God" He should get a checkmark next to His name when you feel you have done your bible study for the day. Do you do that to your spouse or kids? Okay....I interacted with them for 15 minutes today I am done CHECK!! No, that is not what faith is. Jesus is not a religion, He is a relationship and all good, healthy, honest, loving, caring, forgiving relationships require work! Constant work, constant communication, and trust. Have you put your faith into check boxes and to-do lists?? I know I have done that in the past and I feel GUILTY! God is so much more than just a checklist, He is our father, our creator, our everything. And He is all that matters in this life, He is the only way we are going to get through this life and this war. Guard up, armor on, weapons in hand....lets fight!!

"Faith is the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what is unseen." Hebrews 11:1

So...who's side are you on??
